Your task:

To create one "two minute" reading sample at least once a term for your Digital Portfolio.
Reflect on your reading sample and set a goal for the next sample.

To do:

Choose your text carefully and know the reasons why you chose it. (part of a book you're reading, newspaper article...)
Understand what the text is about.
Practice reading your text a couple of times just to make sure that it's right for you.

You want to show your audience
How you tackle tricky words.
How you know what to do when you see punctuation like , . ! and any other types of punctuation that help you read a text.
How you use expression to help the audience understand the text.
How you recheck what you've read if it begins to not make sense.

Use Garageband to record your reading sample.

Reflection

Listen carefully to your reading sample.
Write your reflection into your book, Pages or into your Podcast page. Your teacher will tell you which to use.

These are the questions we'd like you to answer when you write your reflection. Of course we're always happy for you to write as much as you like.

Think very carefully about how you'd like to answer these questions before you start writing.
  • I chose this text because .......................... (give interesting reasons)
  • I really liked the way I ....................................
  • The one thing that I want you to notice about my reading is ..............................

This is the most important question of all.
  • Next time I will ........................

Maybe you could give yourself a rating.
